The fourth edition of the Circular Economy Startup Landscape maps nearly 2,800 circular economy startups across Europe and shows where innovation and capital are concentrated, and where they are missing. Funding is at an all-time high, with Europe attracting over 55 percent of global circular economy investment. Yet only about 5 percent of startups (~130 companies) work on critical raw materials, while import dependencies keep rising. The report, developed by CIRCULAR REPUBLIC with support from Net Zero Insights and TUM Venture Labs, shows what it takes to industrialize the circular economy.
The report covers:
- how startups, funding, and technologies are distributed across European countries, value chain steps, and industries
- why critical raw material recovery remains a niche, and how automated disassembly and new recycling technologies can change that
- how the circular economy can become Europe’s launchpad for physical AI, and which four actions an agenda for resource sovereignty needs
